POSITION OVERVIEW

We are seeking a young, energetic candidate with an entrepreneurial mindset to serve as Business Manager for our processed food product divisions specializing in Fresh Juice and Dried Fruit. This dynamic role requires comprehensive knowledge of accounting, cost management and calculation, business process management, project management, marketing, and sales. Both product divisions operate as B2B entities serving local and international markets.

 

REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS & EXPERIENCE

Essential:
• Honours Degree or Post Graduate Diploma in Business Management and Administration
• 3-5 years\’ relevant work experience
• Experience in manufacturing, specifically in a food manufacturing setting
• Understanding of B2B business models

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

1. Business Development (Local & Export)
• Gain comprehensive understanding of the fresh juice and dried fruit business, both internally and in the external market, locally and internationally
• Develop and implement strategies to grow the business in these markets while maintaining profitability
• Focus on sales and sales administration
• Generate leads for juice and dried fruit sales and convert leads into sales orders
• Ensure all administrative aspects of the sales cycle are addressed promptly to facilitate smooth order fulfillment
• Act as account manager for clients, ensuring client satisfaction and timely payment of accounts
• Collaborate with other account managers across the organization

2. Sales Costings (Local & Export)
• Calculate precise costs including product pricing and shipping fees for both local and international clients
• Present appealing offers to clients in their preferred currency
• Manage exchange rate fluctuations to safeguard profitability
• Ensure competitive pricing while maintaining margins

3. Local & International Logistics Administration
• Collaborate with stakeholders to obtain cost estimates for both local and international transport of goods
• Take full responsibility for all timelines, administrative tasks, and payment processes related to successfully moving finished goods through supply chains to the end customer
• Coordinate with freight forwarders, logistics providers, and customs agents
• Ensure compliance with international shipping and export regulations

4. Product Management
• Assume full responsibility for all elements of the product range
• Maintain thorough product knowledge including labeling, packaging, and customer product expectations
• Ensure compliance with food safety standards, shelf life requirements, and necessary accreditations
• Manage accurate product costing from production to finalization
• Monitor product performance and identify improvement opportunities

5. Production Forecasting and Planning
• Integrate market demand, sales orders, production yields, and raw material availability
• Effectively forecast, plan, and manage production flow in collaboration with Operations
• Balance inventory levels with market demand
• Optimize production scheduling to meet customer requirements

6. Packaging Procurement
• Forecast required packaging materials for both bulk and final products
• Ensure timely procurement of packaging materials to maintain production flow while safeguarding cash flow
• Enhance product profitability through strategic packaging procurement and sourcing
• Negotiate with suppliers to secure competitive pricing
• Manage packaging inventory levels

7. Reporting
• Provide monthly reports on formal business review platform
• Report on sales performance, order fulfillment, product success, and product profitability
• Present insights and recommendations to management
• Track key performance indicators and business metrics
