Verovian Social Work Recruitment Agency is seeking skilled Advanced Practitioners to join a team in Tyne and Wear. This is a fantastic opportunity to play a central role in safeguarding children, supporting families, and guiding less experienced colleagues, all while contributing to the delivery of high-quality, child-centred services.
In this role, you will hold a reduced caseload of complex cases, provide expert guidance to team members, and ensure best practice is embedded across casework. This is an ideal opportunity for confident and reflective practitioners who are passionate about improving outcomes for children and families.
Key Responsibilities
Assessment & Casework
- Undertake complex assessments of children and families in line with statutory frameworks.
- Lead on care planning and interventions, ensuring timely and effective responses to safeguard children.
- Manage a reduced caseload, focusing on high-need or high-risk cases.
Practice Leadership & Support
- Provide mentorship and professional guidance to Social Workers within the team.
- Model best practice approaches in assessment, planning, and case recording.
- Contribute to staff development through reflective practice and learning opportunities.
Multi-Agency Working
- Collaborate with health, education, police, and voluntary sector partners to deliver holistic support to children and families.
- Represent the team at multi-agency meetings, providing professional expertise and recommendations.
Quality & Compliance
- Ensure practice is consistent with statutory guidance, local policies, and the Children Act 1989/2004.
- Maintain accurate, high-quality case notes and contribute to service audits and reviews.
Requirements
- Degree in Social Work or equivalent qualification.
- Registration with Social Work England (SWE).
- Significant post-qualification experience in children’s social care, with a strong understanding of safeguarding.
- Proven ability to manage complex cases and deliver positive outcomes.
- Experience in providing mentorship, guidance, or leadership to peers or junior colleagues.
- Strong communication, analytical, and organisational skills.
