Job Description

Our client is a leading food production company known for delivering high-quality, safe, and innovative food products to markets across the region. As part of their growth and commitment to continuous improvement, they are seeking a Design Engineer to support engineering initiatives, improve production efficiency, and ensure compliance with food safety and industry standards.


Position Summary

The Design Engineer will be responsible for developing, modifying, and improving mechanical and process systems within the production environment. You will collaborate with cross-functional teams to design equipment, layouts, and systems that enhance performance, reliability, and safety in a food-grade manufacturing setting.


Key Responsibilities

  • Design and develop machinery, equipment, and production layouts tailored to food manufacturing processes.

  • Modify and improve existing systems to increase efficiency, reduce waste, and ensure compliance with food safety standards (e.g., HACCP, GMP).

  • Collaborate with the Maintenance, Operations, and Quality teams to implement design solutions on the production floor.

  • Create detailed 2D and 3D CAD drawings and technical documentation for fabrication and installation.

  • Conduct design feasibility studies and cost estimates for proposed projects.

  • Manage capital engineering projects from concept through commissioning, ensuring timelines and budgets are met.

  • Ensure all designs comply with safety regulations, sanitary design standards, and industry best practices.

  • Support troubleshooting of equipment and propose design improvements as needed.


Qualifications & Skills

  • Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering, Industrial Design, or a related field.

  • 3+ years of design engineering experience, preferably in a food, beverage, or FMCG manufacturing environment.

  • Proficiency in CAD software (AutoCAD, SolidWorks, or similar).

  • Strong understanding of hygienic/sanitary design principles and food safety compliance.

  • Experience working with stainless steel equipment, piping, conveyors, and packaging machinery is a plus.

  • Excellent communication and collaboration skills.

  • Strong problem-solving and project management abilities.
