NSEW Recruitment is partnering with a leading renewable energy organization to recruit a Manager of Technical Pre-Sales Support specializing in Battery Energy Storage Systems (BESS) and Tracker solutions. This full-time, permanent position plays a pivotal role in bridging the gap between commercial strategy and technical execution across utility-scale solar and energy storage projects.
The successful candidate will serve as a key technical interface between customers and internal teams, ensuring that complex project requirements are translated into technically robust, commercially competitive solutions. This is a hybrid position that may require occasional travel to customer or project sites.
Act as a technical subject matter expert for pre-sales activities related to utility-scale solar, tracker, and BESS projects.
Develop detailed technical proposals, including system configurations, layouts, and single-line diagrams.
Support the preparation of RFP and RFI responses, ensuring all technical deliverables align with customer and project requirements.
Perform system design and performance analyses for energy storage applications, incorporating site-specific conditions and interconnection criteria.
Collaborate closely with internal stakeholders—including Sales, Engineering, Estimating, and Procurement—to ensure technical consistency and project feasibility.
Contribute to solution development and cost optimization during the bid and proposal phase.
Conduct technical presentations and participate in client meetings to communicate value propositions and system capabilities.
Maintain awareness of evolving industry standards, regulations, and safety codes relevant to solar PV and BESS design.
Support the handoff of projects from pre-sales to execution, ensuring smooth knowledge transfer and alignment with customer expectations.
Lead or participate in internal initiatives aimed at improving pre-sales processes, tools, and technical documentation.
Bachelor’s degree in Electrical, Mechanical, or another Engineering discipline (Master’s degree preferred).
Minimum 5 years’ experience in the renewable energy sector, with at least 1 year focused on BESS project support or system design.
Strong understanding of BESS architecture, including components such as batteries, PCS, BMS, and EMS.
Familiarity with PV design and performance modeling tools (e.g., Helioscope, PVSyst, AutoCAD).
Ability to interpret technical specifications, interconnection requirements, and performance guarantees.
Proven ability to collaborate across departments and communicate technical information clearly to both technical and non-technical audiences.
Working knowledge of relevant industry codes and standards (e.g., NEC, IEEE, UL, NFPA).
