Job Description

G Solutions is seeking a highly skilled and motivated Senior Mechanical Engineer to lead the design, development, and delivery of complex mechanical systems and components.

This role is ideal for a hands-on engineer who thrives in a dynamic environment — someone who combines strong technical expertise with creative problem-solving and leadership skills. You’ll be involved in every stage of the design process, from concept generation through to validation and production, working collaboratively across engineering disciplines to bring innovative products to life.

Key Responsibilities

  • Lead and manage the mechanical design and development of systems, components, and assemblies.

  • Create and maintain 3D CAD models, detailed drawings, and technical documentation.

  • Conduct engineering calculations, tolerance analyses, and performance evaluations.

  • Collaborate with electrical, manufacturing, and quality teams to deliver integrated design solutions.

  • Provide technical guidance and mentorship to junior engineers and designers.

  • Support prototype builds, testing, and validation, resolving technical issues as they arise.

  • Select appropriate materials, components, and manufacturing processes to optimise performance and cost.

  • Apply Design for Manufacture (DFM) and Design for Assembly (DFA) principles throughout the product lifecycle.

  • Drive continuous improvement in design methods, tools, and standards.

  • Ensure designs meet all relevant industry, safety, and quality standards.

  • Contribute to the development of project plans, timelines, and resource requirements.

  • Liaise with external partners and suppliers to ensure successful product delivery.

Key Skills & Experience

  • Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Mechanical Engineering or a related discipline.

  • Minimum of 5–8 years’ experience in mechanical design, product development, or similar engineering roles.

  • Strong proficiency in 3D CAD software such as SolidWorks, Creo, or CATIA.

  • Excellent understanding of mechanical principles, materials, thermodynamics, and manufacturing processes.

  • Proven experience in prototyping, testing, and validating mechanical systems.

  • Knowledge of Finite Element Analysis (FEA) and simulation tools (desirable).

  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with attention to detail.

  • Experience working with PDM/PLM systems, engineering documentation, and GD&T standards.

  • Effective communicator with leadership skills and the ability to manage technical projects.

  • Familiarity with ISO 9001 and quality management systems is an advantage.

Preferred Attributes

  • A proactive, solution-oriented mindset.

  • Ability to work collaboratively in multidisciplinary teams.

  • Comfortable managing multiple projects in a fast-paced environment.

  • Passion for innovation and continuous improvement.

  • Strong organisational skills and ability to meet tight deadlines.
