About the Role

We are seeking an experienced and hands-on Systems Engineering Lead to oversee the design, development, and management of complex systems and infrastructure. You will lead a team of systems engineers, ensuring the reliability, scalability, and performance of enterprise systems or product infrastructure while aligning with business and technical goals.

This is a leadership role requiring both strategic oversight and deep technical acumen, with the ability to guide architectural decisions, troubleshoot system-level issues, and drive continuous improvement initiatives.

Key Responsibilities

  • Lead the design, implementation, and optimization of system architectures across on-premise, cloud, or hybrid environments.

  • Manage and mentor a team of systems engineers, ensuring high performance and professional development.

  • Collaborate with software, network, and DevOps teams to align infrastructure with application and service requirements.

  • Oversee system integration, configuration management, and automation initiatives.

  • Ensure system security, reliability, and compliance with relevant standards and policies.

  • Define and enforce best practices for system monitoring, backups, and disaster recovery.

  • Lead incident response and root cause analysis for system-level outages or performance issues.

  • Evaluate new technologies and vendors for potential adoption to improve infrastructure capabilities.


Required Skills & Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or related field (Master’s preferred).

  • 6+ years of experience in systems engineering, including 2+ years in a leadership or senior-level role.

  • Strong background in systems architecture, virtualization, cloud platforms (e.g., AWS, Azure, GCP), and Linux/Windows environments.

  • Proficiency with automation tools (e.g., Ansible, Terraform, Puppet) and scripting languages (e.g., Python, Bash).

  • Experience with monitoring and observability tools (e.g., Prometheus, Grafana, Splunk).

  • Strong understanding of networking, security, and infrastructure performance tuning.

  • Excellent communication and team leadership skills.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Certifications such as AWS Certified SysOps Administrator, Microsoft Certified: Azure Administrator, or RHCE.

  • Experience working in Agile or DevOps-focused environments.

  • Background in regulated industries (e.g., finance, healthcare, aerospace) is a plus.
